Questions for AI, data and software companies preparing for enterprise or regulated-sector deployment. Use these to identify governance gaps before a client or regulator does.
Question 01
Can you produce a clear data map showing the origin, storage location, processing jurisdiction and access controls for every dataset used in training or inference? Enterprise buyers and regulators will ask this in procurement or licensing conversations.
Question 02
For each use case, which outputs are used directly by the system versus reviewed by a human before action? High-stakes decisions in regulated sectors (lending, healthcare, employment, policing) almost always require human-in-the-loop controls. Can you demonstrate that clearly?
Question 03
What happens when the model produces incorrect, biased or harmful outputs? What is the incident response protocol? Is there a defined process for model retraining, rollback or withdrawal? Can you show this to an auditor or regulator?
Question 04
Can you produce a log of what the model did, when, with what inputs and what outputs — in a format that a compliance team, regulator or court can review? Do you have documented escalation procedures when the system encounters out-of-scope situations?
Question 05
Has the company assessed how its AI deployment changes workforce roles, creates new risks for workers, or affects the information that customers are relying on? Enterprise buyers increasingly need to address this in procurement and ESG reporting.
How to interpret the answers
If you could answer all five with documented evidence, your AI governance readiness is strong.
If any answer was vague or aspirational, those are likely to be the gaps that delay enterprise adoption or create regulatory friction.
Hillblu can help define deployment use cases, design governance frameworks, identify sector partners and build a reference-client pathway.
